POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Culinary Support Specialist plays a vital role in the daily functioning of the kitchen, assisting with various tasks to ensure efficient operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED required. Experience in a diverse work environment is preferred. Candidates should embody the core values of the district: relational, purposeful, reflective, resourceful, courageous, and accountable. Ability to satisfactorily perform all essential functions of the role is necessary.

A criminal background check is required, adhering to district policies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in food service is advantageous.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accountable to the manager and/or assistant manager for following directives and completing assigned tasks. Key responsibilities include:
- Cooking and preparing meals
- Documenting food service activities
- Serving meals to students
- Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen
Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be capable of lifting (5-45 pounds), carrying, pushing, and pulling as required. Ability to stand and work for extended periods is essential.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Ability to foster and maintain positive relationships characterized by high expectations, teamwork, and collaboration. Flexibility in adapting to daily routines and sensitivity to diverse populations is crucial.
FOCUS AND ATTENTION:
Ability to maintain workflow amidst frequent distractions, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and minimize errors.
WORK UNDER PRESSURE:
Ability to produce quality work under tight deadlines and adapt to new directions without compromising composure.
INDEPENDENT DECISION-MAKING:
Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision and clear understanding of work expectations.
ORGANIZATIONAL ABILITIES:
Skill in prioritizing tasks, managing multiple responsibilities, and delivering quality results within designated timelines.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with superiors, colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders. Maintaining professionalism and constructive relationships is essential.
RELIABILITY:
Demonstrated punctuality and regular attendance are required. Ability to complete tasks accurately and timely while being conscientious about performance.
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION:
Annual evaluations will be conducted by the School Nutrition Manager or designated supervisor in accordance with district policies.
