Overview

Since 1977, Sojourner Center has been a safe haven from domestic violence for women and their children in Arizona. Since our founding, we have transformed lives by providing shelter and support services to more than 60,000 adults and children affected by domestic violence. We provide a broad spectrum of services to victims of domestic violence, while working with professionals in the field on education, research and advocacy with the goal of ending domestic violence.

Job Summary: The Transitional Housing Program Manager is responsible for overseeing all transitional case management and program services to participants enrolled in Sojourner Center's Transitional Housing Program.

This role works in partnership with the Facilities Manager and Safety Compliance Manager to manage the Fillmore Commons apartment complex and offsite apartments in a way that supports safety to all participants and staff. While maintaining contractual agreements, the Program Manager will ensure transitional case management services and program elements follow a trauma-informed approach and align with Sojourner Center's philosophy of care.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm (eligible for one remote workday per week after 90-day Orientation period). Evening/weekend flexibility, as needed.

Rate of Pay: $50,000/Annually

Responsibilities

  1. Working closely with all Sojourner Center's Program Managers and Co-Directors, recognizes and effectively responds to impacts of domestic and sexual violence; additionally, provides ongoing training for staff regarding recognition of and supportive interventions for domestic and sexual violence survivors.
  2. Discerns and prioritizes needs of program participants, staff, and the agency and takes appropriate action to efficiently and effectively meet the needs utilizing critical thinking, team problem solving, program development, and involvement with all levels of management, as appropriate.
  3. Provides professional development, team development through ongoing supervision and annual reviews to assigned direct reports.
  4. Provides daily support, training, and resources for all staff providing transitional case management services.
  5. Through daily staff meetings ensures quality service delivery is being provided; facilitates classes offered on-site/off-site.
  6. Promotes culturally appropriate service provision.
  7. Participates in collaborative efforts with partners in the domestic violence and housing regarding innovation and implementation of best practices. Promotes agency wide services within the community at large. Assists applicants applying for housing from outside community agencies.
  8. Maintains application tracking reports, waitlist and occupancy chart for Transitional Housing Program.
  9. Works with the Transitional Housing Program Coordinator and Transitional Housing Program Staff to responsibly review applications for housing. Ensures follow ups occur with the applicant to gather required documents needed for housing compliance.
  10. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of occupancy and inventory for each apartment including occupied/vacant apartments, furniture needs for new move-ins and collaborates with facilities team for statuses of apartment progress and turnovers.
  11. Maintain participant's financial application files and property records ensuring verification and documentation is complete and up-to-date. Ensure file integrity for all housing program files and are aligned with city, state and federal housing compliance requirements.
  12. Collects monthly program fees from participants, using this time to build rapport, support their healing and ensuring satisfaction with property.
  13. Practices financial stewardship by ensuring the facility, equipment, and supplies are maintained in good repair, the program is within budget requirements, and staff resources are being maximized.
  14. Completes reports by assigned due dates, monitors progress and provides input for relevant contracts.
  15. Actively participates in evaluating if program services meet community needs, including program development meetings and grant writing. Actively participates on Leadership Teams and Task Forces as assigned.
  16. Required to respond to after hours and weekend calls from staff when assigned to on-call rotation.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree in social work, human services or a related field and/or HS Diploma and case management experience a plus
  • 2-3 years supervisory experience
  • Experience in family violence programs is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Valid Arizona Driver License, proof of automobile insurance and Motor Vehicle Record acceptable to Sojourner Center's insurance company.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
Physical Factors/Working Conditions:
  • Stands, walks, and sits continuously throughout the day.
  • Reaches, stoops, bends, lifts, carries and manipulates various materials.
  • Utilizes computer and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Some travel between work locations and in the community is required.
  • Required to accept on-call responsibilities during assigned evenings/weekends.
