Who you are:

As a Department Coordinator for the Cardiovascular Surg Unit at Catholic Medical Center (CMC), you will be coordinating the clerical and facilities functions.

This is a fully benefitted Full Time Days (40 hours/week) position and every other weekend rotation (06:45am - 3:15pm).

What you'll do:

• Greet visitors, determine nature and purpose of visit and direct to appropriate individual/area.

• Answer and screen all incoming calls and direct callers or take messages.

• Coordinate all designated aspects of the admission and discharge process, which may include pre-registration, demographic and insurance verification.

• Assists Providers with order entry and information.

• Organizes and maintain filing system of all necessary hospital forms, records and log books.

• Coordinate the ordering and/or return of supplies with the stockroom.

• Coordinate the repair/upkeep of medical and unit equipment with the clinical engineering and facilities department.

• Assist with the orientation of department coordinators and act as the resource for clerical aspects of orientation for the nursing staff.

• Dialogue with the float pool in regards to staffing needs.

• Work with Leadership team to identify and implement change in areas in need of quality improvement.

• Assist in transporting/obtaining medication, specimens, blood products, patient care supplies as needed.

Qualifications

What you'll bring:

• Exceptional people skills and customer service

• Clerical experience preferred.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) preferred.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
