About the Job

The Rental Coordinator position at Thompson Machinery is a key role in the Cat Rental Store, responsible for providing administrative support and coordination of rental sales. Reporting to the Cat Rental Store Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with the Rental Asset Manager and Rental Sales Representatives to ensure seamless rental transactions and orders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reconcile electronic charge transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, answering telephone calls and directing them to the correct individuals or departments.
  • Assist customers with inquiries and develop sales proposals and presentations from customer requests.
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge of equipment and Allied products, researching and responding to customer inquiries.
  • Schedule and dispatch vehicles for the transport of equipment and Allied products, ensuring timely delivery and pickup.
  • Support sales staff with demonstration and sales agreements, coordinating with shop staff regarding repair status and availability of equipment.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • College degree in business, sales, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications, Lotus Notes, and Web-browsers, with the ability to develop functional ability in proprietary software.
  • Ability to work independently and/or with others in a team environment, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and safety.
Work Environment

The Rental Coordinator will work in a fast-paced environment, with occasional need to perform duties outside. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 20-50 pounds occasionally and meet all physical requirements for the position.
