Job Description:

Job Summary: The Patient Services Coordinator Team Lead is responsible for providing supervisory support to the Patient Services team members. This role performs regular quality assurance audits to identify opportunities for improvement to ensure a seamless provider and patient experience & maximum access to services. The Patient Services Coordinator Team Lead is a revenue cycle and customer service expert in the areas of referral management. Referral management includes assessing patient referrals and appointment requests to determine appropriate diagnosis, verifying demographics, and reviewing accuracy, eligibility, and enrollment status.
Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:
  1. Oversees the work of other personnel by training, allocating, and monitoring work. Performs work of a similar nature.
  2. Assists with annual performance evaluations, feedback, and with interviewing process.Assists with corrective action plans, if necessary.
  3. Calculates and monitors scheduling accuracy, quality assurance, and/or scheduling volumes.
  4. Reviews and maintains productivity of assigned work queue by monitoring volumes, documentation standards, and referral priority turnaround times.
  5. Establishes and maintains communication with ancillary departments/entities to facilitate problem-solving and continuous process improvement.
  6. Assists with scheduling issues as necessary to ensure referrals are processed on time based on referral guidelines.
  7. Assists with developing, establishing, and maintaining procedures and standards.
  8. Identifies patient and provider needs and assists in the development and implementation of customer service initiatives. Evaluates outcomes to facilitate continuous process improvement.
  9. Maintains departmental records and reports for administrative and regulatory purposes.
  10. Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
  11. Facilitates and/or participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings as appropriate.
  12. Works independently with guidance in only the most complex situations.
  13. May lead multiple projects and is accountable for ongoing objectives.
  14. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  15. Assists in staff training, as applicable.
  16. Leads staff and provides ongoing support to the department.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
