Responsibilities

Job PurposeThe Geospatial Technologies team is seeking a Geospatial Application Specialist to support mapping and geospatial application functions. This position supports the Pattern Geospatial Platform in Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online with Experience Builder, Python/Arcade and other scripting tools to create geospatial web content.  The Geospatial Application Specialist will work directly with the Manager, Geospatial Systems to support the design and standardization of Pattern’s Geospatial Platform by configuring ArcGIS Mobile, Web and Desktop applications.

The position will be responsible for working cross functionally with the larger Geospatial Technologies team to help setup and provide a standard GIS application offering across the project life cycle.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support data lifecycle management processes by managing data inputs and workflows, developing and automating processes where applicable.
  • Integrate geospatial web applications with external data sources and establish workflows.
  • Develop web-based mapping products and services in Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online, GeoEvent Server, GeoAnalytic Server, Image Server, Workforce for ArcGIS, and mobile GIS applications.
  • Perform raster data editing and analysis.
  • Support strategic GIS projects and deliverables, helping guide the technical and strategic direction.
  • Work closely with other Geospatial Technologies team members to maintain consistency of spatial data across development, construction, and operational datasets.
  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of web and mobile applications for various company functions within development, construction, and operations.
  • Aid in the creation of a GIS training plan to familiarize users with key products.
Qualifications

Experience / Qualifications / Education Required

Educational RequirementsBachelors in geography, spatial science, GIS or related field

Required Work Experience

2-5 years of experience working as a GIS Analyst or Application Specialist

Required Knowledge

  • Ability to configure ArcGIS Dashboards, Experience Pages, Hub Sites, and other configurable ArcGIS web applications.
  • Experience configuring Esri mobile tools like Survey123, Workforce, Field Maps, Collector, or QuickCapture. 
  • Ability to author web layers and web maps in ArcGIS Online and Portal.
  • Ability to understand and extract GIS datasets from different sources.
  • Must be willing to interact with all departments of the company (environmental, engineering / construction, meteorology, land) and willingness to learn more about these areas and how GIS applications can aid in all departments
  • Great verbal, written, organizational skills with willingness to be an independent worker

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to write scripts with Python using arcpy and ArcGIS API for Python
  • Experience with JavaScript and Arcade is preferred.
  • Experience with FME is preferred.

The expected starting pay range for this role is $80,000 USD - $108,000 in local currency. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
