Job Summary

The Coordinator of the Lifting You Up Drop-In Center oversees and coordinates the daily operations of the Drop-In Center. The coordinator will ensure the delivery of services to all our participants and supervise the program staff. The coordinator will make decisions and recommendations for the program that can impact participants' care and services, financial performance and viability, and program development and future growth of programs.

The Lifting Youth Up Drop-In Center Coordinator is an energetic self-starter who is able to function comfortably in a team environment or independently and relates well to co-workers and community partners. This position requires flexibility and the ability to manage time and multiple tasks with little supervision. The individual in this position must be able to assume a wide range of responsibilities, provide timely responses to requests and deadlines and work well under pressure.

Essential Functions
  • Provides leadership to the program and directs the overall management, organization and operations of all services and related activities.
  • Responsible for the programmatic development of the department including but not limited to, case management, life skills, job resources, and daily operations.
  • Integrates the principle of trauma informed care, housing first, and harm reduction into program culture.
  • Oversees and coordinates all Drop-in Center intakes.
  • Establishes systems and relationships to maintain the program census.
  • Participates in the Youth Coordinated Entry System to ensure appropriate referrals and compliance with expectations and outcomes.
  • Provides trauma informed care - participate in trauma informed training as assigned.
  • Ensures adherence to programmatic standards of documentation.
  • Establishes, implements, and monitors department goals, objectives and outcomes in various areas including case management, life skills and housing stability.
  • Oversees and monitors the program budget, participates in annual budgeting process by providing recommendations and information.
  • Responsible for employee staffing, on-boarding, training, and supervision
  • Oversee all audits and corrective action plans.
  • Interface with grant liaisons, community partners and advocacy organizations

Qualifications

Competency Requirements
  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to efficiently coordinate and complete field and office tasks
  • Ability to utilize supervision and consultation constructively
  • Knowledge of Child Abuse and Special Incident Reporting Guidelines and follow-up actions as required by law and contract
  • Knowledge of positive behavioral interventions preferred
  • Must demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making skills
  • Must demonstrate time management skills
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, education, or related mental health/human services field.
  • Minimum 3years of supervisory experience in residential or insecure housing shelter settings, preferred.
Certifications/Licenses
  • Valid CA driver's license

  • Satisfactory completion of health screening
  • Proof of legal eligibility to work in the United States

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of as Coordinator of the Drop In Center, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and use their fingers to manipulate a keyboard or writing instrument. The employee is occasionally required to walk, bend and lift objects heavier than ten pounds. The employee is occasionally required to drive.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily indoors. The noise level varies from quiet to moderate.
