Description

We are looking to add a Sales Coordinator who will be responsible for revenue production for the hotel, and meeting or exceeding planned revenue objectives for occupancy and average daily rate. You will manage all areas of sales according to Island Hospitality Management and Brand Standards to achieve a professional rapport within the local business community. Our Sales Coordinator assists with promotional materials, and administrative duties and is in constant contact with the hotel General Manager and Director of Sales.

This position may require flexible scheduling availability.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Serve as a point of contact for clients and demonstrate commitment to guest service by communicating with them by phone and email, responding to all questions and requests.
  • Know key accounts and actively "sells" through sales calls, property tours, research, networking, special events, etc.
  • Assist managers with duties as needed including but not limited to group rooming lists/pickup reports, group billing, commission processing, proposals, BEO's and meeting arrangements as needed.
  • Maintain vendor and client information where necessary Collaborate with Front Office Team to ensure the details of the group and special corporate directives are executive properly and you are striving to achieve the same goals.
  • Manages banquet and meeting space for assigned groups and act as the liaison between the hotel and customer throughout the event process. Be available to solve problems and/or suggest alternatives to previous arrangements.
  • Research and inform manager of any obvious market trends, review and assist with managing straight line availability and sellout efficiencies and attend weekly strategy calls.
  • Assist management in monitoring and analyzing demand data so that strategic daily selling strategies can be implemented to consistently drive REVPAR.
  • Understand why competitors are successful in each demand segment and directly market/sell against the competition.
  • Identifying revenue problems and opportunities with sufficient lead time to positively impact revenues.
  • Assist in the preparation of required reports for the management team.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of sales or the management.
Job Qualifications:
  • "Hands-On" team member who is actively involved on a daily basis
  • Ability to drive outside sales calls
  • Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
  • Ability to work well in stressful situations
  • Readily available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
