RAYUS Radiology, formerly Center for Diagnostic Iming and Insight Imaging, is looking for a Registration Specialist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together As a Registration Specialist, you will be responsible for providing services to patients and referring professionals by greeting and registering patients in a cheerful, professional, and sincere manner, and performing other duties as assigned. This position is part-time, working 24 hours per week, Saturday and Sunday 7:30am - 8:00pm. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: (75%) Registration Greets and checks-in patients scheduled for imaging services; registers demographic information and processes payment plans and copays with patients Fields calls appropriately for center associates Calls patients to confirm upcoming appointments Acts as liaison between technologists and the patients waiting for exams and relays messages regarding scanner status and other clinic information Maintains front office lobby area by straightening magazines, organizing coffee supplies, and assisting with general office clean up Prepares paperwork for daily and upcoming appointments Faxes reports, billing requests, and medical release forms to referring offices as requested Works closely with technologists to ensure patients have a smooth transition between the front office and technical areas (10%) Insurance Verifies patient's insurance Pre-certifies all exams with patient's insurance company Obtains insurance authorization Uses knowledge of insurance carriers (example Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain authorization if needed prior to appointment Handles release of information requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys & insurance companies following Company guidelines (10%) Scheduling Arranges transportation, interpreters, and hotel accommodations for patients when appropriate Enters and submits patient exam orders Verifies orders match exam schedules Schedules referrals and ensures proper authorizations are obtained Schedules walk-in patients Processes requests for image orders and CDs from referring physicians and patients Maintains an up-to-date and accurate database on all current and potential referring physicians (5%) Completes other duties as assigned Required: High school graduate or equivalent Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 1-2 years customer service experience Proficient with using computer systems and typing Preferred: Previous medical office experience Medical terminology and office background Insurance knowledge Bilingual RAYUS is committed to delivering clinical excellence in communities across the U.S., driven by our passion for and superior service to referring providers and patients.
