Senior SEO/SEM Specialist

Johnston, United States Citizens Full time

Description

If you’re passionate about search - especially the intersection of SEO and SEM - and have a healthy interest in financial services, then consider becoming a Senior Search Specialist at Citizens.

The first 29 words about this role sound pretty sweet, right? Read on

Since search experts are known to don many, many hats, you’ll do the same and find yourself working on driving strategy, creating deliverables, analyzing data, and owning stakeholder relationships. You’ll be responsible for helping develop, deliver and execute SEO strategies across product lines. You’ll work closely with the SEO team, Digital Media, Website Strategy, Publishing, and Content Strategy, and lead/attend recurring meetings with stakeholders from growth strategy, marketing, and associated product teams.

Also pivotal in this role is a solid background in SEM and understanding of how SEO and SEM strategies can co-exist to leverage each other’s performance and opportunities. You’ll have a booming voice in helping immerse the two search arms – oftentimes in test and learn environments - to drive search efficiency and growth. You’ll help monitor and evaluate results across the entire search channel and use your knowledge and insights to help drive tactical campaign elements, including keyword development, bid strategy, creative, campaign structure, and ongoing optimizations. You’ll have ample resources to make this happen, including the SEO team, Digital Media strategists, and a dynamic SEM partner.

You’ll work on a slew of strategic search deliverables, including keyword research, copywriting, and competitor analysis. You’ll provide data-driven insights that inform optimization and recommendations. You’ll also be a serial auditor and always looking for ways to improve search performance.

You’ll help create performance reports that analyze and highlight key search metrics of Citizens web properties. We are a team that does not consider performance as just a bunch of numbers and data in a spreadsheet – we also strive to show impact in a storytelling kind of way. These reports will provide the team with insights it can leverage to further its search footprint and reach across lines of business and stakeholders. You’ll also have the opportunity to expand your search skillset by dipping into projects and deliverables that call for whatever else comes to fruition in this ever-changing space. There is hardly a dull moment around here

This position is based in Westwood, MA or Johnston, RI (remote options are negotiable) and reports to the Head of SEO.

Responsibilities:

• Help drive search insights and strategy at the intersection of SEO and SEM.

• Create deliverables, analyze data, and own stakeholder relationships across product lines.

• Execute keyword research to uncover top performers, gaps and action items.

• Track keywords, ranking, visibility and related metrics across the entire search channel.

• Drive tactical campaign elements, including keyword development, bid strategy, etc.

• Conduct site audits and competitive analysis to proactively discover opportunities.

• Develop internal best practices and guidelines to be shared across the organization.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a high level of geekery and passion for all things search.

• 4+ years of experience in digital marketing with SEO as a primary focus.

• 2+ years of experience in SEM, having led and run paid media campaigns.

• Knowledge of Digital Media best practices and proven understanding of paid media strategy, performance and the marketing funnel.

• Advanced Microsoft Office skills – particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

• Strong analytical skills to review multi-channel data, interpret results, and turn insights into actionable and measurable strategies in a storytelling manner.

• Proficiency with platforms like Conductor, ahrefs, Adobe Analytics, Google Ads, Tableau, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, etc.

• General understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other web technologies.

• Experience working in an Agile environment.

• Experience with website optimization and landing page testing tools a plus.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to develop and nurture relationships, influence stakeholders, and resolve conflicts independently.

• Sound business judgment and technical aptitude.

• Self-starter with strong attention to detail and a desire to impact results.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

• Just an all-around friendly human being who really enjoys what they do.

Hours & Work Schedule:

Hours per week: 40

Work schedule: 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday – Friday Hybrid in office 3 days a week 2 days remote Westwood MA Office or Johnston RI Office
