Description:

The Quality Control Inspector will play an essential role in the construction of a new power generation plant by overseeing and ensuring the quality and compliance of all construction activities. They will conduct thorough inspections and audits of materials, equipment, and workmanship throughout the project to confirm adherence to design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The inspector will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to identify and address any discrepancies, recommend corrective actions, and maintain detailed records of inspections and test results. By contributing to quality assurance and control, the inspector will help ensure the successful completion and long-term reliability of the plant's construction.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction activities, materials, and equipment to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor workmanship and construction processes to maintain high-quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and quality assurance processes. Prepare reports on quality-related issues and non-conformances for project stakeholders.
  • Verify that construction activities adhere to local, national, and international codes and standards, as well as company policies and project-specific quality plans.
  • Identify any discrepancies or quality issues in construction work and recommend corrective actions. Work with contractors and project teams to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Oversee and conduct testing of construction materials to confirm their quality and suitability for use in the project.
  • Work closely with engineers, contractors, and other project teams to ensure consistent quality control throughout the construction process.
  • Ensure that safety protocols and procedures are followed during inspections and construction activities to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and work with project teams to implement best practices for quality assurance.
  • Provide guidance and training on quality control practices to junior team members and contractors to promote a culture of quality.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to apply engineering principles and standards.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to perform technical reviews on three-line diagrams and one-line diagrams for high, medium, and low voltage systems including but not limited to switchgear and motor control centers
    Knowledge of testing and performing technical reviews on current transformers, potential transformers, generators, large power transformers, wiring, etc.
  • Knowledge of constructing, installing, maintaining, and testing medium voltage switchgear and low voltage motor control centers.
  • Ability to perform technical reviews of existing and proposed relay settings.
  • Ability to perform and review ARC Flash Analysis.
  • Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Knowledge of power plant design and construction.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Safety Codes, National Electric Code, NFPA, etc.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree Electrical Engineering and 5 years of experience.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Employment (W2) and Professional Services Contract (480) available.
  • Support during extended hours including weekends, as per business needs.
