Position Overview: The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Commercial and Residential reconstruction initiatives. This includes managing Shepperd Construction personnel and, when necessary, subcontractors, materials, and equipment, ensuring adherence to specifications and designs while maintaining project timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimating and Procurement: Responsible for project estimates, issuing subcontracts, and purchase orders.
- Scheduling: Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely project completion.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets required standards.
- Communication: Facilitate communication with the project team regarding ASIs, RFIs, and material submissions.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure subcontractors execute their contracted scope of work effectively.
- Multi-Site Management: Oversee multiple job sites concurrently.
- Meeting Facilitation: Lead subcontractor meetings to synchronize project efforts.
- Punch List Management: Identify and complete job progress and final punch list items.
- Budgeting Assistance: Aid in budgeting, bidding, and awarding subcontracts for larger projects.
- Permit Acquisition: Obtain necessary permits and approvals for project revisions.
- Scope Identification: Recognize work areas that fall outside of the contracted scope.
- Pre-Construction Meetings: Conduct meetings with subcontractors to prepare for project commencement.
- OAC and OEC Meetings: Attend and lead Owner-Architect-Contractor and Owner-Engineer-Contractor meetings.
Supervisory Duties: The Project Manager will supervise all staff, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors daily, ensuring adequate manpower and compliance with project requirements. This role includes overseeing Superintendents when applicable.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to identify and resolve deficiencies in work.
- Proficient in communication tools such as telephone, email, and digital devices.
- Blueprint interpretation skills.
- Physical capability to lift up to 80 lbs and navigate job sites, including elevated structures.

Education and Experience:
- A minimum of five years of verifiable experience with a comprehensive understanding of construction trades. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook) is required. Experience in multifamily projects is preferred.
