POSITION SUMMARY

The Account Executive's primary responsibility is to solicit new business and retain established accounts. The Account Executive works closely with the Account Manager in servicing accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Prospect for business based on your local networks and community connections.
  • Business and relationship development with referral sources to provide a steady flow of qualified referrals.
  • Generate and pursue new client opportunities.
  • Follow-up with clients after initial meetings and conversations.
  • Develop clients and work to extend client relationship to other products and services offered by United Insurance.
  • Maximize growth and retention through superior customer service.
  • Work with Account Managers to prepare proposal and present to clients.
  • Work with Account Managers to complete pre-underwriting, information gathering, and coverage analysis as needed.
  • Maintain a professional connection among clients, the agency, and carriers.
  • Provide professional risk management advise to clients and prospects.
  • Participate in continuing education programs in both insurance and sales.
  • Travel as needed.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
  • Minimum of 3 years' sales experience preferred.
  • Active Property & Casualty agent's license, preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office products.
  • Disciplined initiative-taker and analytical person.
  • Independent thinking with an ambitious goal-oriented mindset.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to deliver results to clients.
  • Willingness to continually upgrade knowledge and understanding of the insurance industry.
  • Desire to succeed.
