Education: An associate degree in Computer Technology preferred or two or more technology certifications in the computer technology field.

Certification or Licensure: Must possess a valid Driver's License.

Skills: Information technology practices: Hands-on and working knowledge of computer equipment, peripherals, tools, and methods for installing, cleaning, adjusting, and repairing equipment; Understanding of electronic concepts, logic, digital electronic logic, computer operations, and data transmissions. Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a school system environment or related industry experience in technology.

PRIMARY DUTY:

This position is responsible for serving as a key contributor to project objectives and specific team deliverables directed toward the planning and execution of activities related to client computer endpoint management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Primary Support of four (4) school buildings or locations.

2. Serve as part of the IT team subject matter expert in understanding the Endpoint management tools by working with the Central Office Base Technology Support Specialist II to understand, use, and implement the tools in the Richmond County School District.

3. Work and Communicate with Central Office Base Technology Support Specialist II to address and resolve endpoint issues within the School locations.

4. Maintains the current inventory of all devices, tools, and test equipment within assigned School locations.

5. Provide mentorship and support to Technology Support Specialist I who has less experience in the Information Technology field.

6. Maintain and complete records of work performed and repair history of individual pieces of equipment and completed work assignments.

7. Participate in after-hour, weekend, or holiday school-related tasks and events.

8. Serve as an On-Call support person for IT work-related tasks or School District Tasks.

9. Maintain and complete records of work and repair history in the work order system.

10. Drive an assigned vehicle, maintain a safety record, and keep the vehicle in an orderly condition.

11. Follow appropriate safety procedures and protocols.

12. The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed above or not, as are assigned, or required by such employee's supervisor, other appropriate school personnel, law, board policy, administrative regulation, department handbook, as are reasonably necessary to the efficient operation of the school system and its mission.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, and sit.
