Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Technical Support Specialist to join our team, focusing on Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems. The successful candidate will provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting for our VRF equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. This role requires extensive travel to customer sites within Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland, a deep understanding of HVAC systems, and excellent problem-solving abilities. Note that all maintenance and repair labor will be performed by our customers, with our specialist providing guidance and support.
Key Responsibilities:
On-Site Support:
- Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for VRF systems at customer locations.
- Guide customers through diagnostics and repairs on VRF equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and provide recommendations.
- Customer Service:
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and service requests.
- Offer professional advice and training to customers on the operation and maintenance of VRF systems.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to foster trust and satisfaction.
- Stay updated on the latest VRF technology, industry trends, and best practices.
- Continuously improve technical knowledge through training and certifications.
- Provide feedback to the engineering and product development teams based on field experiences.
- Maintain detailed records of service visits, including diagnostics, repairs, and customer interactions.
- Prepare and submit accurate service reports and documentation in a timely manner.
- Assist in the development of technical manuals and support documentation.
- Work closely with the sales team to support pre-sales activities, including system demonstrations and technical presentations.
- Collaborate with other technical support specialists to share knowledge and solve complex issues.
- Assist in training new team members and providing mentorship as needed.

Requirements
Qualifications:
Education:Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., EPA 608, NATE) are a plus.
Experience:Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience with VRF systems or similar HVAC equipment.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting HVAC systems, particularly VRF technology.
- Strong understanding of electrical and refrigeration principles.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including rooftops and confined spaces.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland, sometimes on short notice.
