Field Technical Support Specialist - VRF Systems Expert
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Technical Support Specialist to join our team, focusing on Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems.
The successful candidate will provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting for our VRF equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
This role requires extensive travel to customer sites within Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland, a deep understanding of HVAC systems, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
Note that all maintenance and repair labor will be performed by our customers, with our specialist providing guidance and support.
Key Responsibilities:
On-Site Support:
Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for VRF systems at customer locations.
Guide customers through diagnostics and repairs on VRF equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and provide recommendations.
Customer Service:
Respond promptly to customer inquiries and service requests.
Offer professional advice and training to customers on the operation and maintenance of VRF systems.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to foster trust and satisfaction.
Technical Expertise:
Stay updated on the latest VRF technology, industry trends, and best practices.
Continuously improve technical knowledge through training and certifications.
Provide feedback to the engineering and product development teams based on field experiences.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of service visits, including diagnostics, repairs, and customer interactions.
Prepare and submit accurate service reports and documentation in a timely manner.
Assist in the development of technical manuals and support documentation.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the sales team to support pre-sales activities, including system demonstrations and technical presentations.
Collaborate with other technical support specialists to share knowledge and solve complex issues.
Assist in training new team members and providing mentorship as needed.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Education :
Associate's or bachelor's degree in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., EPA 608, NATE) are a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience with VRF systems or similar HVAC equipment.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting HVAC systems, particularly VRF technology.
Strong understanding of electrical and refrigeration principles.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
Comfortable working in various environments, including rooftops and confined spaces.
Willingness to travel extensively within Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland, sometimes on short notice.
