Position Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic, growth-minded and customer-centric HR Generalist to join our HR team. Based in our Main Office in South Easton, MA, the HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting various HR functions including, but not limited to, talent acquisition, onboarding, employee development, performance management and employee relations. This role would have the ability to work a hybrid schedule of 2 days in office (Tuesdays & Thursday) and 3 days at home (Monday, Wednesday & Friday).

Essential Job Functions

  • Works to design and implement innovative talent strategies to identify, engage, hire and retain talent to meet the growing needs of the Bank. Evaluates these strategies frequently to ensure they remain relevant and cost effective.
  • Oversees and continuously develops the Bank's talent acquisition and on-boarding process by leveraging available technologies, instituting best practices and remaining compliant with hiring practices and state/federal regulations.
  • Provides manager training on the Bank's recruitment process and interviewing best practices to ensure an efficient, fair and consistent candidate experience.
  • Manages and facilitates both active and passive recruitment efforts including, but not limited to, passive candidate sourcing, developing relationships with local colleges by attending career fairs or other sponsored events and actively engaging with the local community to expand our candidate reach.
  • Works with hiring managers to create and review job descriptions; utilizes the Bank's available compensation tools to make salary grade recommendations for new and existing positions.
  • Works cross-functionally to coordinate and communicate new hire onboarding and orientation meetings, employee changes and employee departures.
  • Identifies potential training needs or gaps and works with the Director to develop and/or identify training programs to help support the growth and development of our employees and the Bank.
  • Supports the performance management process, including goal setting, performance evaluations and performance improvement plans. Provides training and guidance to managers on best practices.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from employees and managers, escalating complex and/or highly sensitive matters to the Director. Coaches managers on disciplinary actions, career development and performance management.
  • Oversees the Bank's summer internship and co-op programs.
  • Reviews policies, practices and procedures to maintain ongoing compliance; proposes improvements to ensure the Bank's strategic initiatives and culture align.
  • Prepares HR-related reports and analytics, maintains org charts and participates in audits documentation collection and compliance-related tasks.
  • Crossed trained in other areas of the department to provide support and backup as needed.
  • Stays up to date on changes in labor laws and regulations and communicate any changes to management as needed.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Work Experience

•Bachelor's degree in Business, HR Management or related field required; HR Certification a plus

•5 + years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus in recruiting, employee development and employee relations.

•Prior experience working within the banking or financial services industry a plus.

•Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS systems, preferably Paylocity.

•Strong interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

•Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.

•Ability to think critically and find innovative, out of the box solutions.

•Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing demands and priorities effectively.

•Must be able to display a high level of confidentiality and discretion.

Physical Demands

This position is a professional, office-based position in terms of physical demand. Employees are expected to be able to operate their fingers and hands to perform functions such as typing, writing, and filing. Employees must also be able to move throughout the office with ease while also being able to sit for extended periods of time. Employees must be able to see and hear in an office setting that does include much noise going on around one's workspace. While this job is mainly clerical, there may be instances in which employees must be able to transport up to 20 pounds.
