Position Summary:

Responsible for installation, configuration and support of the organization's servers, systems and networks. Lead role in the support of both departmental and company projects and objectives, including researching, recommending, and implementing new technological solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Installs, configures, and maintains Linux operating systems.
  • Monitors systems performance and ensures compliance with security standards and updates via Red Hat Satellite.
  • Proactively researches, plans, and implements changes to improve systems/network including virtualization.
  • Administers, configures and maintains Storage Area Network infrastructure.
  • Identify, document, and help implement monitoring points with Xymon.
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Uses Jira ticket application to monitor ticket queue and address all systems related service requests
  • Participates in off-hours support
Qualifications:

Essential Skills
  • Self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Must demonstrate advanced knowledge of Linux operating systems.
  • Must demonstrate advanced knowledge of Linux command-line tools, and shell scripting.
  • Must demonstrate advanced knowledge of Linux security concepts, security tools and practices.
  • Must demonstrate advanced knowledge of fundamental networking/distributed computing environment principles.
  • Must demonstrate advanced knowledge of VMware virtualization.
  • Must demonstrate basic knowledge of network security concepts and solutions.
  • Proven ability to maintain desktop and server hardware and software.
General Skills:
  • Adjusts and is flexible to meet changing needs and demands of internal and external clients.
  • Resourcefulness and ability to take the initiative in development and completion of work projects.
  • Clear, effective verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or two-year technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years experience with Windows AD and UNIX/Linux server and desktop operating systems.
  • At least 3 years experience with network systems
  • Fundamental knowledge of F5 applications, NGINX preferred.
  • Fundamental knowledge of automation tools, Ansible preferred.
  • Industry recognized certification preferred.
