Job Summary: Prepare all general accounting transactions and review for supervisor approval:

•Grant and contract billing

•Grant budgeting

•Accounts receivables

•Grant payroll reporting

•General ledger adjusting journal entries

•Prepare workpapers and analysis projects as needed

•Prepare Audit/monitoring workpapers

Essential Functions:

Manage all aspects of Accounting Activities for CASS and its affiliates, including:

•Track and record all appropriate expenses related to government/corporate grant funder contracts and funding reports necessary to provide accurate and timely invoices to funders. Provide invoice packets to assistant director of finance for review in preparation for sending to funders

•Allocation of Expenditures to single or multiple funding sources in accordance with grants and restricted contributions

•Communicate regularly with Accounts Payable when a grant funding source should be or should not be used for expenses to ensure accuracy of grant related expense fund coding

•Maintain accounts in compliance with all governmental guidance including; UGG, OMB, CFR, GAAP, AICPA, IRS, and Funder specific requirements

•Assist management in the preparation of grant/contract budgets

•Assist management with journal entries, accruals and allocations

•Review and analyze monthly grant budget to actual reports and research material variances

•Prepare in a timely fashion grant financial reporting and allocation, and statements for review by the supervisor(s) in accordance with funder deadlines

•Participate in and prepare workpapers for annual audits and monitoring by grantors

•Prepare twice weekly check deposits and related reporting to development and management

•Meet all deadlines as assigned

Other Duties:

•Maintain organized records and filing system

•Notify Supervisor(s) when assigned work tasks will not be completed by their respective deadlines

•Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications:

(Required)

•Experience in non-profit and fund-based accounting

•Experience in government funding and grant management

•Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written

•Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite applications

•Highly analytical and organized with attention to deadlines, priorities and details

•Team-oriented, self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and attention to deadlines

•Five-years work experience in not-for-profit accounting (or Bachelor of Science degree in a related field)

(Preferred)

•Sage Intacct fund accounting software knowledge is a plus
