Job Title: Grants Manager
The Grants Manager will be responsible for identifying, securing, and managing grant funding to support the mission and programs of Southwest Human Development. This role involves researching potential funding opportunities, writing compelling grant proposals, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. The Grants Manager will work closely with program staff to align funding needs with grant opportunities and will play a key role in sustaining and expanding our organization’s impact.
Job Duties:
- Identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and corporations that align with the organization’s mission and programs.
- Write and submit high-quality grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Oversee the administration of awarded grants, including tracking progress, ensuring compliance with grant terms, and preparing required reports.
- Work closely with program staff to understand funding needs and develop proposals that support program goals.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with funders, including regular communication and stewardship activities.
- Maintain accurate records of all grant activities, including proposals submitted, grants awarded, and reporting requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of funded programs and prepare reports for funders and the organization’s leadership.
- Oversee the work of one part-time grant writer and one contract grant writer. This includes hiring, mentoring, and reviewing proposals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Early Childhood Education).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in grant writing and management, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card - OR - must qualify for a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
