JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Program Director, this position is responsible for

the Safety, Health, Hygiene, and repairs of the Residential Re-Entry Center. To maintain the daily maintenance and janitorial duties for the upkeep of the facility 24 hours a day. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To assure the facility complies with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and Volunteers of America standards and regulations regarding safety, health, cleanliness, and repairs on a daily basis while maintaining accreditation standards in respect to safety. Maintain compliance with all fire safety codes, inspections, systems, and equipment. Maintain an appropriate recycling program to meet applicable local recycling requirements. Responsible for proper sanitation, ventilation, waste management, and pest control services. Ensure that the facility is in compliance with all local, state, and national electric codes. Responsible for the storage, issuance, handling, and accountability of all flammable liquids, hazardous chemicals, toxic, and caustic materials used in the facility to include proper SDS documentation. To coordinate and explain the standards of compliance with the Security Staff. To be present one late night (weekly) for supervision of evening cleaning. To be personally involved in training Staff and residents on how to clean and inspect the building for cleanliness to include, but not limited to common areas, showers, and floor upkeep. Responsible for attending monthly safety meetings and disseminating essential information to all staff. Ensure that all areas of the facility are maintained and clean to include, but not limited to the trash receptacles and light replacements when needed. Responsible for responding to major maintenance and repairs. Coordinating with contractors to repair deficiencies with prior approval from the Director. Coordinate all maintenance work to properly maintain WMS facilities and grounds. Ability to demonstrate basic carpentry skills. Proactively maintain maintenance inventory as well as all documentation as it relates to the SOW/ACA and any other federal, state, or municipal regulations that impact your area of responsibility. Check for all potential safety hazards on a daily basis. Also, report all safety hazards to the Director or Assistant Director. Provide monthly quality control plans as outlined by the Director or Assistant Director. Execute all other duties as assigned. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Non-essential) Assists with the transportation of auditors, stocking and shelving of office supplies and equipment. Performs light housekeeping to keeps office area clean and tidy. Participates in ACA and PREA audits. Evacuate with the facility as needed. Shelter in place with the facility as needed. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: This position requires knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to: High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required two years of experience at the supervisory/managerial level. Must have experience working with individuals with asocial and addictive abuse histories, preferably in a residential inmate environment. Knowledge of Federal Bureau of Prisons standards and regulations as they relate to residential inmate centers is preferred. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Competent computer skills, including MS Office and knowledge of office equipment is required. Proficient verbal and written communication skills Organizational, planning, work management and prioritizing skills required. Problem solving ability, attention to detail, accuracy, flexibility, and reliability required. Ability to read technical manuals and drawings. Physical stamina and dexterity Documented, verifiable office experience is strongly preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 21 years of age or older at the time the offer of employment is made. Must be able to pass all required compliance checks and criminal history investigation, including Bureau of Prison NCIC/NLETS. Must be able to obtain and maintain certification in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, bend, lift, and stoop in performing work. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand; and stoop, kneel or crouch.
