Position Overview:

Common House New Orleans is seeking an Events Manager to manage sales, execution, strategy, and reporting for hundreds of events annually — from weddings and rehearsal dinners to corporate retreats. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of full-service event experience, possess excellent networking and leadership skills, and be excited to meet new people and grow a department. The desired candidate will hold values such as integrity, excellence, flexibility, and teamwork in high regard.

Position Details: Manages the private event sales, execution, strategy, and reporting for Common House New Orleans at the unit level.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Sales:

Sell and book all events, from responding to inquiries to creating initial proposals/contracts, including rehearsal dinners, wedding ceremonies + receptions, corporate meetings, non-profit fundraisers, work retreats, etc. Manage multiple, unique, rentable spaces, and all-inclusive services Setup up phone calls and tours for potential clients Upsell booked clients on elevated experiences or products offered Maintain client relationships to encourage repeat events, or repeat clients with varying events Facilitate tastings for confirmed events (weddings only) Network with wedding and other local vendors to promote Common House Attend local networking events and gatherings Works with OpCo Function Lead and Director of Operations on improving sales style, tactics, and strategy Oversees department tasks and projects to maintain efficiency and increase revenue

Execution :

Create detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEO) for each event Lead BEO meeting weekly to go over details for upcoming events Check-In at large events Oversee the overall execution of events Identify ways to continuously improve efficiency and communication with the front-of-house and kitchen teams for smooth event execution

Strategy:

Generate event leads via community outreach and networking (local wedding vendors, corporate companies, universities, etc.) Partner with the internal Brand & Communications team to proactively market Common House as an event venue in the local and surrounding markets Partner with the Food and Beverage team and Front of House team to curate custom dining experiences, private event menus, and beverage packages for all event types and budgets

Reporting:

Attend weekly All Team meetings, Month In Review meetings, and BEO meetings with prepared reports and notes for private events Follow department processes to track data on leads, bookings, and event executions to inform pricing, decision-making, and marketing strategies Update event pacing document weekly

Education and Experience: Private Events execution and sales experience required. Bachelor's Degree Preferred (may substitute for relevant experience). Ability to be onsite for tours, meetings, etc.
