Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Water/Wastewater Engineer with expertise in Wastewater Treatment, Potable Water, or Water Conveyance. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing a variety of water and wastewater projects. This position requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, regulatory standards, and sustainable practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Wastewater Treatment:
- Design and develop wastewater treatment plants, including process design, equipment selection, and layout.
- Conduct feasibility studies, pilot testing, and performance evaluations of treatment processes.
- Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
Potable Water:
- Design and develop potable water systems, including treatment facilities, distribution networks, and storage tanks.
- Conduct water quality analysis and implement treatment solutions to meet regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with drinking water regulations.
Water Conveyance:
- Design and develop water conveyance systems, including pipelines, pump stations, and canals.
- Perform hydraulic modeling and analysis to ensure efficient and reliable water transport.
- Prepare construction documents and oversee construction activities to ensure quality and adherence to design specifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Oregon or Washington, or the ability to obtain within six months.
- 5+ years of experience in water/wastewater engineering with a focus on wastewater treatment, potable water, or water conveyance.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, WaterCAD, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with sustainable design practices and green infrastructure.
- Familiarity with GIS software and applications.
