What is the Opportunity? Anchor QEA is in search of a hydrology and water management engineer to contribute to our extensive portfolio of water management engineering projects in the Pacific Northwest.

We are particularly keen on candidates who possess a robust technical foundation in hydrology and hydraulics, a passion for learning and evolving within a dynamic organization, and a readiness to engage in a diverse array of water management initiatives.

The ideal applicant will be capable of executing technical tasks, including conducting technical studies and engineering design work.

The selected candidate will collaborate with fellow technical professionals to support water management, civil engineering design, and habitat restoration projects across the Pacific Northwest.


Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be tasked with the following:

  • Conduct technical analyses and assist in the creation of civil engineering design documents for water management, water supply, water conveyance, water storage, stormwater management, and habitat restoration projects.
  • Perform calculations and complete hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support water management initiatives.
  • Draft written reports and technical studies.
  • Assist in the development of civil engineering drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates.

What Are We Seeking?

Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:

  • A Master's Degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 0-4 years of experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, water resource planning and management, and the design and construction of water resource projects.
  • A willingness to engage in a variety of tasks, from hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to the development of drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for diverse water management, civil engineering design, and habitat restoration projects.
  • Experience with a variety of hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling and design software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, WaterCAD, and/or similar packages.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Self-motivation, initiative, and proactive communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • An Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate and a plan to obtain a Washington PE license within the next 4-5 years.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Range:
$75,000 - $85,000 annually, along with an annual bonus and other potential bonus types.
