The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for a range of HR functions, including payroll, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and training. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with good communication skills who can handle multiple tasks effectively.

Onboarding: o Coordinate and conduct new hire orientations and onboarding processes. o Ensure all new hire paperwork is completed and filed accurately. o Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns. o Assist employees with benefits enrollment and address any questions or issues. o Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. o Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, attendance records, and other HR-related documentation. o Prepare and submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner. o Identify training needs and coordinate employee training and development programs. o Facilitate training sessions on various topics, including compliance, safety, and professional development. o Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvement. o Assist with payroll processing to ensure accuracy and timeliness. o Support timekeeping functions and address any discrepancies or issues. o Maintain accurate payroll records and assist employees with payroll-related inquiries. o Assist in the development and implementation of performance management systems. o Support managers in conducting performance reviews and providing feedback to employees. o Help identify and address performance issues and opportunities for improvement. o Maintain organizational charts and detailed job descriptions along with salary records

General HR Support: o Provide support for various HR projects and initiatives as needed. o Assist with HR administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and record keeping. o Support the HR team in fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Qualifications: o Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. o Minimum of 2 years of experience in human resources, preferably within the fire and safety protection industry.

Skills and Competencies: o Strong understanding of HR principles and practices. o Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. o Excellent organizational and time management skills. o Strong written and verbal communication skills. o Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism. o Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). o Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus

Personal Attributes: o Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks effectively. o Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. o Self-motivated and capable of working independently. o Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

Working Conditions: This position is based in our Denver, Colorado office. Standard office hours (Monday-Friday) with some flexibility required for supporting different time zones and occasional travel.
