Insurance and Claims Counsel

• Responsible for handling large volume of executive line claims, including D&O, E&O, Cyber, Crime, and Employment Practices. Responsibilities include:
o Guide clients through claims process and assist with accessing carrier resource
o Analyze coverage and oversee and ensure timely reporting of claim
o Respond to coverage issues, strategize, and advocate effectively on behalf of Lockton client
o Advise and consult with clients and internal constituents on coverage issues concerning executive line and cyber claim
o Advise and consult with clients about the claim process and potential insurance solution
• Review executive line and cyber policies and specific wording for coverage gaps and potential issues; consult with clients and internal constituents regarding same
• Research current trends in law that pertain to executive and cyber line space and our clients' insurance program
• Draft whitepapers and other educational presentations concerning executive and cyber line
• Accumulate required continuing educational credits to maintain current insurance and legal license
• Represent Lockton at client meetings and external event
• Prepare written correspondence, analyses, reports and memos as needed
• Make a positive contribution to customer satisfaction and constantly strive to improve service to the customer
• Communicates in a positive manner to contribute to a cohesive, pleasant work environment
• Protect the confidentiality of information learned by performing the duties of the position; reinforce the importance of confidentiality of information to all department associate
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Law Degree required. Bachelor's degree in a business-related program or equivalent education and/or experience required. CIPP a plu
• Five plus years of experience as an attorney with an insurance company, law firm or other corporation. Experience handling insurance coverage matters or litigation a plus
• Understanding of the overall business, operations, and commercial insurance needs of client
• Executive level presence to interface with top management of other businesses, representing Lockton in the highest professional manner
• Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills
• Consistent proven ability to organize and manage time in order to meet time-sensitive deadline
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact with clients and associates at all levels of responsibility, building strong internal and external client relationships.
• Proven leadership and problem-solving skills, including resolving unusual and complex internal and external issue
• Must have the ability to travel by automobile and aircraft and be away from home more than one day and night
• Legally able to work in the United State
