Your Role:

As a Senior Liability Claims Adjuster, you will be assigned as the primary adjuster when injury exposures are identified, particularly those exceeding $25,000, which may encompass significant and catastrophic injuries. You will manage both represented and unrepresented first and third-party cases, with an independent settlement authority of up to $15,000. Your responsibilities will span multiple states, including licensed and statutory jurisdictions. You will also handle homeowner liability property damage claims and may take on low-complexity claims in support of larger catastrophes.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary adjuster for identified injury exposures.
  • Manage various claims types, including complex first and third-party auto, homeowners, and watercraft cases involving injuries, as well as first-party Medical Payment and Uninsured Motorists claims.
  • Make informed coverage determinations and guide customers on the appropriate actions regarding coverage issues.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, which may involve interviewing witnesses, gathering and analyzing evidence (including medical records), and determining the necessity of independent medical examinations.
  • Establish liability determinations.
  • Assess potential for subrogation and initiate the initial notice of subrogation requests.
  • Contribute to shaping our company culture through participation in employee resource groups and community service.
  • Embrace cultural norms by engaging in meaningful interactions, such as onboarding new team members and building relationships.
  • Meet business needs, which may include dedicating extra time and assisting other teams.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, risk management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 6-7 years of claims experience, with at least 3-5 years focused on casualty claims.

  • Developing expertise in handling litigation files for minor, moderate, and complex litigated claims.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.

  • Comprehensive understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements, along with CSAA IG claims policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrating respect for diverse backgrounds.

  • Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
