Position: Insurance Claims Analyst
Work Arrangement: Remote
Compensation: $19/hr - $20/hr without benefits
Contract Duration: 7 months with potential for extension
Position SummaryThis role involves the examination of claims related to Travel Insurance.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough investigations, assessments, and resolutions of claims, utilizing both technical expertise and interpersonal skills to ensure fair and timely case management.
- Adjust reserves or provide recommendations for reserves to align with corporate policies.
- Handle complex claims with significant exposure, ensuring high-quality service throughout the claims process.
- Process and authorize claims payments within the established authority limits.
- Review claims evaluated by insurance adjusters, further probing into questionable claims to decide on payment authorizations.
- Verify and analyze data pertinent to claims settlements to confirm validity and adherence to company policies.
- Input claim payments, reserves, and new claims into the computer system, ensuring clear and comprehensive documentation.
- Collaborate with legal representatives on claims that necessitate litigation.
- Engage with claimants, medical professionals, or employers to gather additional information as needed.
- Maintain organized claim files, including records of settled claims and those requiring in-depth analysis.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Active New York Adjuster's License is mandatory; additional state licenses are preferred.
- Strong proficiency in analytical tools, document management, and database query software.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Two to four years of relevant experience in the field.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Outstanding customer service and communication abilities.
- General knowledge of state and national regulations.
- Basic understanding of medical and legal terminology.
- Experience in a claims environment with established performance goals.
