Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Senior Homeowner Claims Field Adjuster. This role is pivotal in supporting CSAA IG's objectives and is based in a remote capacity, with a focus on local travel within the designated area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and document essential loss information from insured parties.
- Conduct thorough investigations, evaluations, negotiations, and settlements of homeowner property claims, which may range from low to high complexity, often necessitating physical inspections.
- Act as the primary adjuster for all claims assigned at the Field Examiner level, progressing towards the competency of a Level 5 Homeowner Adjuster.
- Oversee and coordinate independent adjuster assignments as required.
Essential Duties:
- Investigate and assess all aspects of property loss claims of moderate to high severity, both in-person and virtually.
- Engage with insured individuals or third parties to document and inspect damaged properties.
- Determine the scope of necessary repairs and prepare repair estimates using the Xactimate system.
- Negotiate repair costs with insured parties and relevant contractors.
- Ensure the repair process is followed through to completion.
- Conduct comprehensive investigations to identify the cause of losses, collaborating with experts as needed.
- Finalize settlements and disburse payments for damages once coverage analysis is complete.
- Manage all correspondence to maintain regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- A minimum of four years of claims experience is essential, particularly in homeowner claims.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic mathematics and computer skills, with a typing speed of at least 30 wpm.
- Demonstrated customer service expertise.
- Familiarity with handling multiple homeowner state policies and understanding fair claims settlement practices.
- Knowledge of the Xactimate estimating system and experience with field inspections.
- Understanding of home construction principles.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals.
- Active participation in company culture initiatives.
- Willingness to travel as necessary for the role.
