TITLE: Human Resource Generalist

JOB CODE:

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including involvement with recruitment, administering pay programs, oversight of departmental compliance with employment law regulations, employee benefit programs, and creating and enforcing company policies and practices.

SHIFT DAYS/HOURS:

8:00 am 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Flexibility available. Subject to change based on business necessity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelors degree Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field of study, required.

Experience: Four years of related work experience, preferred.

Certificates, License, Registrations: Human Resources certification, preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills; Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate; Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.; Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.; Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.; Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.

Maintain confidential, professional relationships and protect employee information. Compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality.

Physical: Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force frequently, or negligible constantly. Walking or standing to a significant degree or sitting constantly and pushing/pulling controls.

EXPOSURE TO HAZARDS:

According to OSHA standards, this position is classified as low risk with little or no risk of exposure, Class III

EQUIPMENT USED:

Standard office machines including: computer, copy machine, multi-line telephone, standard printer/fax/scanner

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development under the direction of Executive Director of Human Resources, and as part of the Amberwell Health HR Team.
  1. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Serves as a resource to leaders in guiding the disciplinary process.
  1. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  1. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  1. Maintains performance evaluation forms, process and enforces compliance
  1. Collaborates in HR department functions as needed, such as benefits fair, hospital week, employee events, etc.
  1. Presents HR policy information at new-hire orientation
  1. Conducts and oversees exit interview processes and provides feedback to leaders as appropriate when trends are identified
  1. Implements employee recognition programs.
  1. Other duties as assigned.
