Production Operations Manager
This is a full-time, exempt role.
Primary Objective:
This position is accountable for overseeing the efficient functioning of Warehouse and Production operations within the facility. Responsibilities include the recruitment, onboarding, training, and management of personnel in these sectors; specifically, scheduling time off, assessing performance, and ensuring that team capabilities align with operational needs. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring adherence to all safety and quality protocols across the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage actively and maintain a daily presence in the facility to address production, packaging, warehouse, and delivery challenges. Ensure that team members complete tasks as required and have the necessary resources to perform their duties effectively.
- Develop and implement a production schedule that supports daily operations while prioritizing safety, quality, and service standards.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance technicians to enforce food safety, sanitation, and quality initiatives, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards, while continuously seeking enhancements to the Quality Assurance processes.
- Identify and implement innovative and efficient methods for manufacturing, shipping, and cost management to enhance value for the company and its stakeholders.
- Ensure that safety training programs are completed for all team members.
- Monitor the workplace for potential improvements, safety issues, and personnel matters.
- Address and follow up on customer feedback, collaborating with sales teams to resolve issues.
- Conduct weekly Toolbox meetings to discuss safety and operational matters.
- Work closely with Commercial, Formulations, Quality Assurance, and other leadership teams to resolve scheduling, production, and formulation challenges.
- Participate in inventory reconciliations and monthly sanitation, quality, and GMP audits.
- Promote a culture where Safety and Quality take precedence over production.
- A Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) along with 1-3 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven capability to present information with enthusiasm and energy to motivate and influence others.
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A track record of prioritizing safety and a commitment to promoting safety improvement initiatives.
- Strong focus on Quality and support for food safety initiatives.
- Relevant industry knowledge.
