SUMMARY: The Human Resources Specialist - Training and Development will be integral to PEKO's HR department. You will be primarily responsible for streamlining and administering PEKO's learning and development programs. The ideal candidate will partner with a collaborative team to identify opportunities to bridge gaps, continuously improve initiatives and processes, identify future trends, and foster the growth of individual strengths to elevate PEKO's culture.

LOCATION: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Learning and Development:
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance processes and efficiency.
    • Design and create comprehensive training programs for employees across different departments, under the direction of management. These programs will encompass onboarding, skill development, leadership training, and other relevant initiatives.
    • Support the delivery of training development plans including the development of materials, tutorials, instructions, and additional learning resources for proper onboarding and ongoing skill development.
    • Support all levels of management in the Learning Management System (LMS) rollout and beyond.
    • Maintain training records for all staff, including managing and maintaining e-learning system accounts.
    • Support the creation, development, and maintenance of training content/materials, including on-the-job training aides, presentations, and documents as requested.
    • Continuously evaluating and improving training programs to align content with job-specific requirements/certifications.
    • Conduct in-person training (safety, mutual respect, new hire orientation) as needed.
    • Ensure training and development data is maintained, including support of electronic files, reporting and audit activities, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance.
    • Collaborate and partner with internal subject matter experts and external training vendors to ensure the content is up to date, accurate, and aligns with PEKOs objectives.
    • Support the apprenticeship program and PEKO U by interfacing with the apprenticeship coordinator, instructors, and apprentices to ensure timely rotations and program completion.
    • Ensure training and development data is maintained, including support of electronic files, reporting and audit activities, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance.

  • Additional Support:
    • Works to resolve basic employee relations issues. Reports findings to HR leadership for collaboration on approach and resolution.
    • Assist with other duties as assigned by management.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred, associate degree in HR or similar field or a minimum of (3) years related work experience in HR is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in the creation and delivery of training programs.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, UKG preferred.
  • Experience with LMS, Absorb preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively handle highly sensitive and personal information with sound judgment, tact, and discretion.
  • Computer proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel), with advanced Excel skills a plus.
