Job Description:
The purpose of the Registration and Records Specialist position is to provide administrative support to the Coordinator, Academic Operations, to the Registration Department and to the entire Workforce and Community Education Division (WCE). This is accomplished by assisting students with the online registration process; providing students information on course offerings including any prerequisite requirements; reconciling student accounts in Axiom and processing through to Banner; approving and finalizing student registrations requiring scholarship or grant awards; reviewing daily accounting reports and reconciling any student enrollment issues; researching discrepancies in data for students, GL and courses; proofreading and editing Schedule of Classes productions; performing a variety of clerical duties including data entry, copying, faxing, scanning, filing and answering phone inquiries.
Other duties include opening/closing the noncredit office; maintaining the reception area and updating materials in the lobby; monitoring and ordering supplies; greeting and directing students and walk-in visitors; participating in professional development activities; and other duties as assigned.
This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position, and includes a comprehensive benefits package offering medical, dental and vision coverage; generous paid time off; tuition assistance; and retirement savings.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States, as the College does not offer Visa sponsorship for this position.
Required Education:
Minimum of an associate's degree.
Required Experience:
Minimum 1 year of current or most recent work experience in an administrative or frontline customer service position utilizing a Customer relationship management system or similar platform.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
Knowledge of general office procedures
Provide front line customer service to all internal and external customers
Ability to handle high-volume of phone calls
Ability to maintain electronic files accurately
Ability to work and cooperate with co-workers and supervisors at all levels
Ability to work with, within, and promote a diverse workforce environment
Knowledge of relevant computer software applications including Microsoft 365
Ability to coordinate the activities of several ongoing projects
Ability to reconcile GL Accounts
Ability to understand and act on oral and written instructions in English
