Position Summary

Under general supervision, the role entails managing scheduling, registration, pre-admission processes, and providing guidance within the facility. This position is crucial in maintaining departmental standards for data management and patient selection. Responsibilities may also encompass verifying insurance eligibility, securing pre-certifications, and generating cost estimates for patient care.

Key Responsibilities

The following duties outline the essential functions of this position:

  • Act as the primary contact for patients and visitors, ensuring exceptional customer service within the Patient Access and Administrative Services areas. This role is vital in creating a supportive environment, recognizing the challenges and uncertainties patients face during their visits.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

Applicants must possess a high school diploma or a State High School Equivalency Certificate (GED). Preferred qualifications include certifications from relevant local organizations such as AAHAM or NAHAM. A minimum of one year of experience in clerical, customer service, or receptionist roles, ideally within a healthcare environment, is required, with two years preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Understanding of health insurance principles and practices is essential.
  • Familiarity with payer requirements for referrals and preauthorization is advantageous.
  • Awareness of price transparency regulations and the ability to provide patients with cost estimates for their care needs is preferred.
