Merjent, Inc. (Merjent) is seeking a full-time Talent Acquisition Specialist to assist the Human Resources department with recruitment, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing prospective team members.

The anticipated annual rate for this position is between $70,000 and $90,000, depending on qualifications and experience.

responsibilities

The Talent Acquisition Specialist be responsible for the following:
  • Developing and implementing innovative recruitment strategies to identify, hire, and retain staff.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to develop relationships and gain a comprehensive understanding of the company's hiring needs.
  • Evaluating applicant qualifications by partnering with hiring managers to interview applicants, analyze applicant responses, and compare qualifications to the position requirements.
  • Working cooperatively with the Human Resources team to write and post job announcements.
  • Remaining active with job boards, social networks, schools, job fairs, and platforms for finding quality candidates.
  • Using a variety of sourcing channels to build and maintain a pipeline of potential candidates for projected and ongoing hiring needs.
  • Screening resumes and curriculum vitaes (CVs) to verify qualifications and fit for duty.
  • Arranging for and participating in candidate interviews.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date candidate records in company applicant tracking system.
  • Evaluating industry trends and suggesting implementation strategies relative to existing employees.
  • Following up with new hires to ensure a smooth transition into the company.
  • Assisting with other Human Resources-related tasks such as maintaining job descriptions, entering new staff hires in the human resources information system, performance management, and Equal Employment Opportunity compliance reporting.
  • Understands current laws and regulations pertaining to recruiting.
  • Improving the effectiveness of the talent acquisition processes and procedures.
qualifications and experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in human resources management or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in recruiting and Human Resources.
  • Experience in developing recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Familiar with job boards and computer systems designed specifically for human resources and talent recruitment.
  • Experience in environmental consulting or other environmental fieldwork-based companies; preferred but not required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish; preferred but not required.
  • Familiar with recruitment opportunities such as college job fairs; preferred but not required.
  • Familiar with subject matter expert job boards such as those focused on specific roles within Merjent; preferred but not required.
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and recruiting software such as ApplicantPro.

  • Excellent organizational, writing, communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, managing multiple priorities.
  • Recognizing team members that align with job announcements and position descriptions.
  • Understanding consulting company functions and services.
  • Thinking outside the box to creatively identify sourcing solutions.
  • Working within and managing a company-approved recruitment budget.
  • Conducting interviews using various methods (phone, video, email, in-person).
  • Ability to travel when required; for example, attending job fairs.
  • Demonstrating discretion with sensitive or confidential staff information.
