MCOE is led by the elected Merced County Superintendent of Schools and governed by the Merced County Board of Education. While serving as a focal point to facilitate local school/government/community partnerships, MCOE is responsible for the fiscal oversight of each school district in Merced County, hears appeals for student expulsion hearings and interdistrict transfers and operates Green Meadows Outdoor School.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Food Services Supervisor, perform a variety of duties involved in preparing, transporting and serving food as required for Head Start program activities; clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and facilities. This is a substitute position and is exempt for the classified bargaining unit.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Training: Any combination of education and training to demonstrate the skills listed below.

Experience: One year experience in a high production kitchen.

Credentials and/or Skills: Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment, utensils and measurements; sanitation and safety practices related to cooking and serving food; safe work practices. Ability to operate kitchen equipment used in quantity food preparation; prepare and serve food in accordance with health and sanitation regulations. Ability to follow recipes. Ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform the required duties. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Proof of valid CA driver's license and minimum amount of liability insurance required by law. DMV H-6 printout required.

Satisfactory results from pre-employment physical required.
