Job Overview

Position Summary

This role is essential for supporting the operations of Advanced Chemical Transpo by executing environmental services and managing collections, with a strong emphasis on safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive A or B class vehicles
  • Process and consolidate a variety of chemicals, including hazardous materials
  • Manage the loading and unloading of hazardous waste, particularly biological waste
  • Conduct inspections of hazardous waste storage facilities and maintain accurate records
  • Label and organize containers in compliance with regulations
  • Respond to emergency situations as necessary
  • Maintain cleanliness of the dock and facility as directed
  • Assist in the shipping of hazardous waste, including biological materials
  • Participate in and complete all required training programs
  • Follow safe handling practices for chemicals, radiological, and bioactive substances
  • Uphold the core values of Advanced Chemical Transpo and the ProACTive Safety Program
  • Be available for weekend shifts and extended hours as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

  • Familiarity with the hazardous waste sector is advantageous
  • Demonstrated efficient and effective work habits
  • Ability to maintain a tidy and organized workspace
  • Capability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background checks, physical examinations, and drug screenings

Education and Experience

  • Clean driving record over the past three years with a minimum of three years driving experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Preferred background in hazardous materials or waste management
  • Completion of HAZWOPER 40-hour certification is desirable
