IPEX is seeking a motivated, ambitious, dynamic team player to fill the position of R&D Project Manager - Research. In this role, you will lead and supervise a project team in the identification, development and advancement of internal and external research projects accelerating new product development and time to market of breakthrough technologies. Key responsibilities:

Oversight of and responsible for personnel within his / her team Lead project team with internal and external research projects for eventual adoption within the IPEX R&D environment through universities, vendors, third party contractors, Innovation clusters, etc. Accountable for the execution, quality and timelines for projects within the group and for providing project deliverables to partners. Personally lead internal and external research projects Assist and support internal research projects to accelerate development and launch of new products. Technology scouting, analysis, and synthesis to provide SWOT analysis of competitor IP and assist with direction of potential development paths. Lead and support internal continuous improvement projects. Lead and support internal technology development and enhancement projects. Co-ordinate and review Non Disclosure Agreements with target partners and IPEX Legal group Build and foster external partnerships for enhanced research capabilities and technology development. Improve project reporting and develop and maintain clear project dashboards highlighting all aspects of project scope and activities Drive and manage milestone completion activities Track activities and results in real time to improve efficiency and project lead-times Develop best practices and standard operating procedures based on successful benchmark activities Investigation and coordination of new technologies for the development advanced polymer compounds and product development Coordinate and report on activities with internal and external partners, as well as with external vendors, agencies, and research partners Develop tools and workflows for enhanced communication of activities with internal and external partners Responsible for the project updates in R&D Project Brief Promotes collaboration with other teams and members of the R&D group Monitors reports prepared by the team, checks for accuracy and ensures write up and outcome quality and meets project scope requirements. Collaborates with various business units and team members. Ensures project team adheres to health and safety requirements. Supports and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives within the R&D department. Job requirements:

Degree in Polymer Science, Chemical engineering, Material Science or Chemistry or Mechanical engineering PMP designation preferred. 3-5 years’ experience managing projects. Proven track record of managing and coordinating external partnerships. 3-5 years previous leadership experience required 5 + years’ experience in the plastics industry an asset Experience in the vinyl industry is an asset. Proven track record of having successfully launched new products. Excellent communication (listening, oral and written) and interpersonal skills to compliment superior problem-solving abilities. Must be driven, structured, results oriented with positive and professional attitude. Ability to collaborate across geographical, business units and manufacturing plants as a cross-functional team member within IPEX.
