The ideal candidate will ensure that all Signature Brands hardlines products are compliant with relevant regulatory and safety requirements. The Compliance Specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, and quality control, to ensure that all products meet applicable standards and regulations.
Essential Duties:

  • Stay up-to-date on relevant regulatory and safety requirements including federal and state laws and regulations related to hardlines ranging from children's products, general merchandise, and food contact materials.
  • Monitor product development and production processes to ensure that products are designed with safety and sustainability in mind and that existing products and labels are compliant with applicable regulations and safety standards.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify potential compliance issues and provide guidance on how to address them.
  • Support development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures related to applicable products.
  • Coordinate closely with third-party testing and certification organizations from sample preparation and shipping through final report issuance.
  • Maintain records related to compliance activities, including but not limited to; supply chain documentation management, specifications, Restricted Substances and State reporting (as needed).
  • Collaboration and engagement with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and industry associations.
  • Support product recalls and other corrective actions related to compliance issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, science, or business.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a compliance role, preferably in the children's product field.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory and safety requirements related to children's products and food contact materials, including federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, and quality control.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience with product testing and certifications is a plus.
