DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded.
Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
Has overall responsibility for overseeing assigned accounting functions.
Supervise and guide lower-level accountants and clerical level staff.
Memorializes finance processes.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Preferred bachelor’s degree in directly related field.
Associate degree required with at least four (4) years of professional level accounting is acceptable in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of four (4) years directly related experience required.
Extensive knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.
Must be accurate in both processes and content.
Proficient knowledge of Costpoint; specifically, Costpoint Billing
Cognos knowledge is a plus.
Government Contracting knowledge and experience is preferred.
Knowledge of FAR and JTR is preferred.
Relies extensively on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
