Serves as Sports Facility Coordinator for Parks and Recreation with responsibility for assisting with the directing and overseeing assigned sport-related maintenance, programs, and operations for the department.

Essential (primary)
Plan, direct, and oversees events, programs and/or rentals at the following locations: Twin Lakes Sports Park, Winslow Sports Complex, Olcott Park, Butler Park ballfield and Bryan Park ballfields.
Plan, direct, oversees all aspects of Bloomington Youth Basketball season I, II and III at the Twin Lakes Recreation Center.
Supervision of part-time employees, general facility operation employees, and independent contracted umpires at Twin Lakes Softball Park, Winslow Sports Complex, Twin Lakes Recreation Center and Olcott Park.
Track and invoice user group rentals via Rec Trac at Winslow Sports Complex, Twin Lakes Sports Complex, Butler Park ballfield and Bryan Parks ballfields.
Assist and conduct training sessions that may include NAYS Coaches training and in-house coaching training.
Attendance required at departmental staff/team meetings
Takes all reasonable steps to maintain a safe work environment and a safe environment for participants.
Non-Essential (secondary)
Attends workshops and conferences to further professional development.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of full range of theories and principles accepted in the field of Recreation equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation or related field.
Minimum experience of one year.
Certified First Aid Instructor’s License and Community CPR certification, preferred, ability to obtain within six months of hire, required.
Ability to cooperate with and interpret recreational philosophies to public and private groups and agencies.
DIFFICULTY OF WORK:
Work requires a flexible schedule and the ability to work in a variety of environments including cold and rain.
Evening events, programs, and meetings are required on a regular basis. Incumbent needs the to use oral communication with the general public, parents of the community, and youth participants.
PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS:
Position holder is in continual contact with facility users, families, and community groups for purposes of explaining operations policies and procedures.
Frequent contact is also maintained with subordinate personnel.
Incumbent needs the ability to build relationships with staff.
Serves as program coordinator, on numerous partnership group boards, and user group governing boards.
