Job Summary

The Marketing Manager is responsible for various aspects of marketing in the North American marketplace. The position works with the General Manager, VP of Customer Success, and many other internal North American stakeholders to develop strategic marketing initiatives for the North American region, and own the tactical execution of marketing programs and campaigns.

This position understands and executes on the marketing strategy, aligning actions with Maptek's key objectives and strategic direction. Assists in developing marketing plans and budgets, executes on advertising, manages staff, manages public relations efforts, completes market research initiatives, maintains the Maptek brand, analyzes performance metrics, understands market trends and consumer behavior, develops an in-depth knowledge of various marketing channels. Communicates marketing needs and plans with the General Manager and senior management team. Oversees department - plans, directs, develops and coordinates the marketing plans, activities, and staff to improve brand awareness and generate sales revenue. Plays an important role in maintaining a consistent and positive company image through engaging marketing campaigns that increase market awareness of Maptek and Maptek's products and services to attract new customers and keep existing ones loyal.

This role is expected to demonstrate an exceptional work ethic, positive attitude, integrity, marketing competence, and moral decision making. Currently, the rest of the NA Marketing team consists of only one person. As a result, this role will focus less on people management and more on executing Marketing activities that are aligned with overall objectives.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Marketing plans and strategies: Establish and implement Marketing efforts that effectively communicate and support the company's mission and strategic vision to support the achievement of the overall business operations objectives.
  • Campaign Management: Plan, develop, and execute integrated sales and marketing campaigns that drive demand generation, increases in sales pipelines and opportunities, customer/prospect insights, and enable data-driven decision making across the North American operation.
  • Customer database - manage customer information profiles and segmentation strategy that considers buying habits, demographics, etc.
  • KPI Reporting: Track performance metrics throughout the entire marketing process to ensure goals are being met.
  • Tradeshow and Event Management: Oversee all planning and logistics required for Maptek North America's tradeshow and event programs. Continually identify areas to improve their effectiveness.
  • Market Research: With input from stakeholders in sales and services, generate prospect lists and other intelligence necessary. Manage prospect database and proactively identify methods to improve the quality of lists provided to stakeholders. Conduct postmortems with stakeholders to ensure effectiveness of deliverables.
  • Budget Management: With oversight and direction from the General Manager, assess spending decisions, track marketing expenditures (payments, payees, outstanding invoices, etc), and generally ensure the effectiveness of the marketing expenditure.
  • Other marketing-related duties as needed: This may include but is not limited to: managing marketing collateral, assisting with client-facing promotions, proofreading, event planning, and collaborating with staff as needed.
  • Supervisory: Support, mentor, train and supervise Marketing staff towards organizational objectives. Provide performance evaluations.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, related field or equivalent work experience.
  • A good all-around understanding of marketing.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good Interpersonal, analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Good time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience with varied Marketing technology.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.
  • Ability to work constructively with a diverse group of people, attitudes, and expectations in local and international Maptek offices.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language.
  • Mining/geological experience preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically or internationally as needed.
