We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to come help us automate everything, enable our developer teammates, and create and support world-class platforms.

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will be an integral member of the Platform Engineering team, helping the organization transform into a truly modern cloud-native mode of operation. The goal of the Platform Engineering (PE) team is to reduce friction in the delivery process and improve developer experience. Technical prowess, pragmatic strategic understanding, and ability to make compromises working with the stakeholders are the 3 pillars of this job.

The Senior Platform Engineer will be working closely with the Sr Manager of Platform Engineering, Platform Tech Lead, Platform Architect, and Technical Product Owner (TPO) to ensure sound technical direction. The Senior Platform Engineer will also work with the Technical Product Owner on their Agile Platform Engineering team to facilitate delivering the most critical platform features needed for the Product Development Teams.

The Senior Platform Engineer will be expected to provide guidance on DevOps practices and tools as well as Azure cloud resources. In addition, this position will mentor teammates and serve as an escalation point for Platform Engineer I's, and II's.

Job Responsibilities:

Embrace the Client culture and be a positive force for the team

Contribute to the strategic planning and direction for the automation and governance platforms

Embrace and evangelize automation, infrastructure as code, policy as code and developer enablement

Lead technical implementations leveraging the team architect

Be a foreperson on the team and a strong presence in collaboration with other teams and leadership.

Represent platform capabilities at delivery ceremonies (for example: Architecture Review Board (ARB) and Change Approval Board (CAB))

Drive forensic troubleshooting and analysis of automation and platform consistency issues

Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems, resource, and infrastructure availability and performance optimization

Evangelize cloud-native practices and methodologies to delivery teams

Provide subject matter expertise for all aspects of our technology stack

Infrastructure Automation Via Terraform

Azure DevOps Pipelines

Kubernetes / AKS / EKS

CI/CD Patterns

Foster the team's growth through hiring, onboarding, and mentoring

Participation in an on-call rotation

Experience, Qualifications and Skills:

5+ years of experience in a Platform Engineering, Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Systems Engineering, Cloud-Native Engineering, DevOps Engineering or Advocacy role

Expertise with containers and container orchestration, particularly Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

Expertise writing production code with an industry standard programming language using Agile methodologies.

Strong Scripting Experience

Expertise practicing Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code techniques

Expertise managing multiple code bases in Git

Expertise creating Continuous Integration builds and deployment automation, for example CI/CD Pipelines

Expertise building and supporting Cloud Native applications in a major public cloud

Expertise implementing observability, application monitoring, and log aggregation solutions

Expertise working with cross functional teams to provide DevOps inspired solutions

Preferred Experience, Qualifications and Skills:

University Degree in a computing related field or equivalent experience

Expertise with dotnet, PowerShell, and PowerShell Desired State Configuration

Bachelor's degree in a computing related field

Microsoft Azure or AWS Certifications
