Mon-Fri: 8:30am – 5:00pm
Under limited supervision, provides highly responsible information technology direction and support; manages IT/IS department operations, advises management in strategic planning efforts, researches and implements technical strategic solutions, manages information systems, implements agency information systems and hardware as needed. Work involves completing a variety of special projects; development and quality assurance, lead technology expansions, and performing related work as required. Reports to the Associate Executive Director.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Involved in strategic operations planning and information systems technology development with top senior management.
Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
Accomplishes information technology results by communicating job expectations to staff.
Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by creating a product and system roadmap.
Handles responsibility for software, hardware, and network services.
Responsible for IT/IS project management.
Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures.
Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures.
Recommends and provides technical advice and directives to agency on purchases of hardware and software.
Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge.
Coordinates and manages contract and maintenance agreements on various systems and services.
Meets with vendors to discuss and evaluate software packages, cell phone options, networking solutions, etc.
Determines the need for and schedules computer system maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
Develops, implements, and assists with word and data processing procedures for various business applications.

Information System Manager Skills and Qualifications:
Technical management, technical understanding, analyzing information, informing others, staffing, problem solving, developing budgets, coordination, strategic planning, quality management, and customer satisfaction.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Requires a Bachelor’s degree with a concentration of coursework in computer science, supplemented by six to eight years of experience in computer software and network operations, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must have strong analytical, communication, and change management skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Physical Requirements : Tasks involve the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and which involves some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 20 pounds) and occasionally heavier weight (up to 40 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
Data Conception : Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable functional, structural, or compositional characteristics of data, people, or things.
Interpersonal Communications : Requires the ability of speaking and/or signaling people to convey or exchange information.
Language Ability : Requires ability to read a variety of policy and procedure manuals, financial documents, equipment manuals, computer manuals, insurance documentation, etc.
