Hill & Smith Inc. operates five manufacturing facilities in the US and sells a wide array of transportation safety products around the world. Such products include roadside safety hardware (steel barriers and attenuators), work zone safety products (arrow boards, message boards, traffic cones and plastic products) and ITS smart work zone solutions (roadside data collection equipment and software). We are searching for an enthusiastic and goal-oriented sales professional who is also ambitious and forward-looking.

** Job Summary:**

The Rental Business is responsible for managing and growing our rental business, in collaboration with outside sales, business development and operations. The Rental Business Sales Representative will report directly to the VP of Sales & Marketing and alongside another Rental Business Sales Representative to develop sales and operational strategies for growing and managing the rental business. The Rental Business Sales Representative will research and track all bidding opportunities in applicable markets and prepare quotes, communicate product benefits, follow-up with awarded contractors and oversee project coordination. They will work with operations to ensure that rental projects are successfully deployed, and customers expectations are exceeded. They will collaborate with and act in conjunction with outside Regional Sales Managers to ensure a cohesive and well thought out sales approach in each market.

** Job Duties and Responsibilities:**

* Research and track all bidding opportunities in applicable markets and prepare quotes

* Communicate with customers, make outbound calls to potential customers, and follow up on leads

* Understand customers' needs and identify sales opportunities

* Answer potential customers' questions and send additional information per email

* Keep up with product and service information and updates

* Effectively communicate product benefits and value proposition

* Stay informed about competing products and services

* Coordinate projects and provide project support to ensure customer satisfaction

* Manage logistics of rental fleet deployment including

* Develop delivery schedules with customers

* Work with plant manager to coordinate logistics

* Ensure required documentation is complete and accurate

* Prepare financial forecast and other reports for management

* Keep Salesforce CRM up to date with activity notes, follow up & opportunity pipeline

* Address potential problems, and deploy prompt solutions

** Requirements:**

* Minimum of 2 years experience, preferably with sales experience

* Computer skills and proficiency, especially with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products

* Experience using a CRM, preferably Salesforce

* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

* Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask

* Excellent phone and cold calling skills

* Exceptional customer service skills

* Bachelors Degree is preferred, or equivalent work experience
