The Center for Human Resources is comprised of five service areas: Benefits Services, Human Resources Services, Employment Services, Labor and Employee Relations, and Payroll Services, all of which are supported by the Director's Office and Human Resources Information Systems. Major departmental programs and activities include classification and compensation, recruitment and talent acquisition, training and professional development for staff and management, benefits administration (including leave management and workers compensation), payroll administration, workforce administration, labor and employee relations, and reporting and analytics for all employees.For more information regarding the Center for Human Resources, click here.Education and ExperienceEntry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.These qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.Key QualificationsAbility to effectively handle interpersonal interactions at all levels and handle highly sensitive interpersonal situations.Ability to provide a high level of service and professionalism to all customers.Ability to establish cooperative working relationships and work effectively within a diverse, multi- cultural environment and to be sensitive to other's needs.Strong communication skills and active listening skills.Strong organizational skills and ability to work with frequent interruptions.Customer service experience.Previous front counter support experience in an office environment.Knowledge of Microsoft Office, and Google G Suite.Compensation and BenefitsStarting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $3,864 per month.
