Responsibilities Process data feeds into the appropriate data repositories: CEBS relational database schemas, CEBS Bins and Modules, GEO, or SRA Develop and apply analytical, graph/network, visualization, and reporting tools to data sets to further scientific understanding and derive knowledge from data. Work with users to answer questions about the contents of the database and help with submission of information using advanced Excel functions, Oracle SQL queries, Knime, Tableau, and Python, & Jupyter Notebooks Familiarity in writing KNIME workflows Familiarity with human and clinical domains Comfortable aligning synonyms and other common terms and creating a good definition. Familiarity with controlled vocabularies and with OBO Foundry ontologies Able to generate new human-oriented metadata and variables related to environmental health and exposure information. Expertise in scripting in R or Python and relational databases such as SQL or Postgres Manage user support requests including extracting custom datasets from the DB using SQL queries. Build a knowledgebase to understand cross talk between databases, map similar and dissimilar information in disparate databases and data feeds, document and understand business logic for how a column may be used or is populated. Define and collaborate on novel computational approaches and tools for accuracy and adequacy in displaying data to help meet research goals. Maintain statistical programs to analyze and report standard data pipelines. Develop new workflows to clean, reformat, integrate, and analyze data. Perform user interface testing, quality control, and data validation for reports and on other data outputs meant for public release. Understand how to gather requirements and turn them into project tasks. Understand project tasks and clearly communicate with study scientists, data curation and development team’s as well as stakeholders and other managers. Maintain clear lines of communication with clients and stakeholders and work within scheduled constraints and meet deadlines. Ability to build productive cross-functional collaborations both within and external to the team. Prepare and provide clear and concise documentation. Impeccable attention to detail and critical thinking skills. Other related tasks as required. Desired Experience Ability to understand scientific literature, experimental procedures and their limitations, and current needs of the research community. Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously. Demonstrate strong decision-making, complex problem solving, critical data analysis and interpretation. Strong written and oral English communication skills. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree in epidemiology, statistics, biostatistics, or related field and minimum 5-7 years of experience in toxicology, chemistry, pharmacology or related field OR Master’s Degree in epidemiology, statistics, biostatistics, or related field and minimum 2-4 years of experience in toxicology, chemistry, pharmacology or related field OR PhD in epidemiology, statistics, biostatistics, or related field with a minimum of 0-1 years of experience.
