As a Clinical Risk Manager I, you will work to manage the organization's clinical risk management program on a day-to-day basis. Your duties will include but are not limited to: - Leading investigations and learning to manage significant adverse events that result in harm. - Managing and analyzing risk management data. - Working with seasoned people in the development and implementation of risk management educational programs for assigned areas. When you join Cleveland Clinic, you'll be part of a supportive caregiver family that will be united in shared values and purpose to fulfill our promise of being the best place to receive care and the best place to work in healthcare.Responsibilities:Safety Event Reporting System (SERS) Event Management: Identifies, codes and manages event reports for assigned Institutes or Hospitals.Learns Root Cause Analyses concepts and required documents and develops meeting facilitation skills.Learns management processes for disclosure of unanticipated outcomes and medical errors.Performs all duties under supervision of the department leader or experienced CRMs.Identifies cases that may be potential claims and provides an early notification to other departments (Law, ERI) once identified.Presents cases to Medical Legal, Huddle I and Huddle II in a timely manner.Serves as resource for any risk related issues/information. Analyzes and interprets basic data and conveys results.Participates in Institute/Hospital Committees representing Clinical Risk Management.Other duties as assigned.Education: Bachelor's Degree required. Master preferred.Certifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) or other healthcare discipline licensure strongly preferredCurrent certification as Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management preferredCurrent FASHRM, DFASHRM, CPPS or CPHQ certification, or other advanced education in the field of quality plexity of Work:Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Work Experience: Minimum five years clinical experience required (recent clinical experience is preferred).Minimum three years risk management, quality management or legal nurse consulting experience preferred.Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.Requires frequent computer entry, standing, walking and sitting.Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.Normal or corrected hearing and speech.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Salaries [which may be] shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
