Responsibilities
  • Safety Event Reporting System (SERS) Event Management: Identify, code, and manage event reports for assigned Institutes or Hospitals.
  • Learns Root Cause Analyses concepts and required documents and develops meeting facilitation skills.
  • Learns management processes for disclosure of unanticipated outcomes and medical errors.
  • Perform all duties under supervision of the department leader or experienced CRMs.
  • Identify cases that may be potential claims and provide an early notification to other departments (Law, ERI) once identified.
  • Presents cases to Medical Legal, Huddle I and Huddle II in a timely manner.
  • Serves as resource for any risk-related issues/information.
  • Analyzes and interprets basic data and conveys results.
  • Participates in Institute/Hospital Committees representing Clinical Risk Management.
Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) or other healthcare discipline licensure strongly preferred.
  • Current certification as Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management preferred.
  • Current FASHRM, DFASHRM, CPPS or CPHQ certification, or other advanced education in the field of quality.
