Job Description: The Operations Specialist will assume the Executive Director position where vacancies exist in order to provide strong and effective leadership to the community during an ED transition. This position serves to ensure the community operations remain stable and is expected to have an immediate positive impact on the community. The Operations Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Community and the protection of Community assets. This role demonstrates knowledge of and assures compliance with all laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Oversight of the Community management, Community Department Managers, and all Community Team Members in the administration and provision of Resident services is also required. The Operations Specialist promotes the Company’s mission statement and supports community operations during community acquisitions. The Operations Specialist will: Assess and manage the current situation Oversee the business processes and operations Support the department heads Have an immediate impact on the community Be immediately productive Minimize the risk of things going wrong Be responsible and accountable for results Make certain that effective communication occurs Ensure that the needs of the residents continue to be met Be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the community Responsibilities: Provide direct and indirect supervision of the community operation along with training, coaching, counseling, and performance evaluations of all staff members. Ensure that the nursing services provided meet the needs of the residents in accordance with the developed service plans and that the service plans meet the required state codes and company policies. Ensure that census expectations are met and that the resident admission process documentation is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with established policy and procedure. Oversee the recruitment and retention of qualified staff throughout the community, ensuring background checks, reference checks, and licenses are cleared before the employee is released to work. Ensure that staff has opportunities for ongoing training through in-service programs and specific educational workshops to meet the needs of the licensure and the needs of our current and future residents. Conduct the weekly management meetings, morning stand-up meetings, and monthly all staff meetings. Motivate employees through staff appreciation, recognition, and incentive programs. Promote positive employee relations, address concerns timely, and resolve grievances as quickly as reasonably possible. Oversee the community budget, providing guidance and training to department heads on the maintenance of the overall community budget. Monitor operations of the community on a regular basis and prepare quality review audits and monthly variance reports. Maintain and facilitate open lines of communication between corporate, regional, and community staff. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports in accordance with company policy or federal/state regulations as assigned by the regional director of operations. Maintain outreach and education with the community to ensure positive relationships with community resources. Work to resolve issues identified by residents, family members, and staff or outside representatives. Keep the Regional Manager up to date on developments. Oversee the building and grounds to ensure they are maintained in good repair, clean, and free of trash and litter. Ensure that routine safety inspections and monthly fire drills are conducted on a regular basis. Education and Experience: Three or more years of experience as an ED in senior housing. High school diploma required; college credits or degree preferred or satisfy state experience requirements. Meet continuing education requirements and certifications on job classification and position, including state requirements. This position will require between 75% - 100% travel with 10 days onsite and then four days off on a regular basis. #J-18808-Ljbffr
